Training and Board Certification
Dr. Largey began his training at the the University of Maryland, College of Dental Surgery. Upon completion of his studies, he entered an intensive four year program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Washington Hospital Center in downtown Washington D. C. During this hospital based surgical residency he spent significant time rotating through medicine, general surgery, plastic surgery, anesthesiology, trauma surgery and pathology. The focus of residency training is complex facial reconstructive surgery, including skeletal and jaw deformities, pathology, trauma and aesthetic facial surgery that includes both the hard and soft tissues.
Dr. Largey is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. To achieve board certification applicants provide verified written evidence of their education and training as well as evidence of experience in all aspects of contemporary oral and maxillofacial surgery and then they must pass a rigorous written and oral exam. The benefit to choosing a board certified surgeon is the quality assurance established by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
